Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 Ultra surfaces, unboxing event scheduled for July 10?

Samsung is reportedly preparing to launch a new foldable device called the “Galaxy Z Fold 6 Ultra”. Android headlines.

This would be Samsung's first “Ultra” Fold model, following the trend they started with the Galaxy S20 series.

According to Android headlines, the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 6 Ultra carries the model number SM-F958N. They think it's the “Fold 6 Ultra” because Samsung usually ends the model number with “8” for Ultra phones.

Previous Ultra models followed the same pattern, such as the S23 Ultra (SM-S918x) and the S24 Ultra (SM-S928x). Unlike previous foldable devices, this one has a model number ending in “8”, indicating that it is an “Ultra” version.

With the internal model number “Q6A”, the exact release date is still unknown, but it is expected to debut at the Galaxy Unpacked event in July.

However, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 Ultra may only hit the shelves in Korea, hinted at by the model number SM-F958N, which usually indicates the Korean market. But the standard Galaxy Z Fold 6 (SM-F956N) will also be available there.

Samsung may present two models in the Fold category: the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and the Galaxy Z Fold 6 Ultra, but details about their differences are scarce. The Z Fold 6 Ultra is confirmed to feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, marking Samsung's first “Ultra” device in the Fold series.

The report noted that different model numbers could suggest a wider release, but this seems unlikely at the moment.

The upcoming Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event

As for Samsung's upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event, SamMobile reports that it is scheduled for July 10, possibly in Paris, given the city's hosting of the 2024 Summer Olympics, of which Samsung is a major sponsor.

Official invitations to the event are expected to be sent out in late May or early June, although the date may be subject to change.

At the event, Samsung is likely to unveil its first smart ring, the Galaxy Ring, along with the Galaxy Z Fold 6, Z Fold 6 Ultra, and Galaxy Z Flip 6. In addition, we can anticipate the launch of the Galaxy Watch 7 and at least one new pair of wireless headphones.
