Ather unveiled its latest electric scooter, the Rizta, tailor-made for families in India at the Ather Community Day 24 in Bangalore. Marking a new addition to its lineup alongside the Ather 450 series, the Rizta offers two variants: S and Z.

Design-wise, the Rizta opts for a more conservative look compared to its sportier 450-series counterparts. It features a horizontally-arranged headlamp cluster with integrated DRLs and indicators.

The scooter has a spacious seat, the largest Ather has ever made, with ample storage space under the seat and a front storage bin. Additionally, an optional frunk attachment provides even more storage capacity.

The Rizta is a powerful PMS electric motor, which offers rapid acceleration from 0 to 40 km/h in 3.7 seconds, with a top speed of 80 km/h. The scooter is available with two battery options, providing TruRange of 105 km and 125 km respectively, with a five-year/60,000 km warranty. The IDC range is 123 km and 160 km respectively.

Charging times range from 4h 30min to 6h 40min for a 0-80% charge. Ather ensures accessibility to chargers with its extensive fast charging network of around 2500 points in 170 cities.

The Rizta S features a Cortex series processor, running on a real-time operating system (RTOS) with 8GB of storage and 1GB of RAM, while the Rizta Z is equipped with a Snapdragon 212 Quadcore processor, 16GB of storage and 2 GB of RAM, which runs on Android. Open Source OS (AOSP). Both have touch screens with IP65 water and dust protection.

On the features front, the Rizta offers a range of options, including a 7-inch color TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity and navigation for the Z variant, and a 'deepview' LCD display for the S variant. Notably, it comes with a charger wireless under seat for the Ather Halo smart helmet.

In terms of hardware, the Rizta features a lower chassis, telescopic forks, monoshock suspension and 12-inch wheels with MRF tyres. Safety features include Ather Skid Control technology, the ESS system and the Ather Fall Safe function.

Ather Stack 6 software updates improve the driving experience with inertial regeneration enabled and over-the-air updates up to Gen 3. The scooter offers two riding modes – SmartEco and Zip – along with Park Assist and auto hill hold.
