vivo and Zeiss have signed a new agreement to expand their joint research and development efforts. This collaboration aims to push the boundaries of cooperation and foster sustainable innovation.

Together, they will delve into mobile optics, explore new technologies and improve imaging solutions, representing a significant advance in industry collaboration.

Advancing the mobile image

Building on their existing partnership established in 2020, this agreement underscores both parties' commitment to user-centric innovation.

Over the years, they have developed various technologies, including Zeiss optical lenses, T* coatings, portrait lens packages and natural color enhancements.

In particular, they introduced the Zeiss APO super telephoto lens, joining the “Vario-Apo-Sonnar” standard. These innovations have been integrated into 20 products, benefiting millions of users worldwide with improved mobile imaging experiences.

Future innovations

Moving forward, vivo and Zeiss plan to further push the boundaries of imaging, including classical and computational optics. They will also expand into healthcare imaging, exploring new frontiers in this evolving field.

While continuing imaging and optics research, vivo has also made significant strides in self-research, releasing four iterations of its own imaging chips between 2019 and 2023.

Blueprint Imaging live presentation

vivo recently introduced Blueprint Imaging, part of its Blue Technology Matrix, which includes the Blue Crystal Chip Stack, the Blue Heart Large Model, the Blue Sea Endurance System and the Blue River Operating System.

These technologies will be integrated into the upcoming X series, jointly developed with Zeiss, promising to meet the user's evolving imaging needs. Adopting an open system of self-research and co-research, vivo aims to foster sustainable innovation and create a natural ecosystem.
