Sony has scheduled its Xperia product launch event on May 17 where the company is expected to launch the new Xperia 1 VI smartphone. Sony has already confirmed that it will launch new Xperia phones powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 mobile platform in 2024, so we can expect the chip in the flagship.

The phone is rumored to be wider and have a more traditional 19.5:9 aspect ratio, compared to the 21:9 aspect ratio of older models. It's also said to pack a 2K+ or Quad HD+ panel (about 3200 x 1440 pixels) instead of a 4K panel in previous models.
