Xiaomi has quietly unveiled the Redmi Note 13R, the company's latest budget 5G smartphone in China, as the successor to last year's Note 12R. It sports a 6.79-inch FHD+ 120Hz LCD display with a punch-hole center housing an 8MP front-facing camera, is powered by Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 Advanced Edition with up to 12GB of RAM.

It has up to 512GB of storage, has a crystal glass design, is only 8.32mm thin and is also IP53 rated for dust and splash resistance. The Note 13R has a 50MP rear camera along with a 2MP macro camera.

The phone uses a new magnetically controlled ink process that offers undulating texture under the sun, creating the flowing light and shadow of sea waves. The visual effect is smart and three-dimensional, which complements the feeling of silky smooth glass, the company said.

The phone runs Android 14 with Xiaomi HyperOS, has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, packs a 5030mAh battery and comes with 33W fast charging.
