YouTube has announced the global launch of Playables, which brings free-to-play casual games to its platform after testing last year. Initially exclusive to YouTube Premium members, Playables is now available on Android, iOS and the web.

The games are light games that can be accessed on YouTube's mobile apps and desktop site. Google describes them as a “fun and interactive way to experience YouTube.”

To access Playables, follow these steps:
  • On desktop: Visit, scroll down the menu on the left, and click Playables in the Explore section.
  • On mobile: Open the YouTube app, tap the compass icon in the top left corner, scroll down and tap Playables.

More than 75 games are available, including “Angry Birds Showdown”, “Cut The Rope” and “Trivia Crack”. The games cover various categories like Action, Sports, Brain & Puzzle, Arcade, RPG & Strategy, Board & Card, Trivia & Word and Simulation.

When you log in, Playables will save your game progress and track your all-time high scores. You can also share games with friends. YouTube Premium members will have their current video playing in the background with game audio muted, while free users will hear game audio.

As of today, YouTube is expanding Playable to more regions of the world, with plans to increase availability to more users in the coming months.
