OnePlus is gearing up to launch its next tablet, the OnePlus Pad 2, later this year. Leaks about the tablet are surfacing online, with whistleblowers Max Jamborwho previously predicted the tablet would arrive in the second half of 2024, now says it will be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip.

Although specific specifications have not yet been revealed, with the flagship processor on board, we expect improvements such as a brighter display, a larger battery and increased storage capacity.

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 is a significant upgrade from the original OnePlus Pad. This could lead to further improvements, such as possibly switching to an AMOLED display instead of the previous LCD panel.

To recall, the first-generation OnePlus Pad features an 11.6-inch LCD screen with a 144Hz refresh rate, Full-HD+ resolution, and 500 nits brightness. Powered by MediaTek's Dimensity 9000 SoC, it houses a 9,510mAh battery with 65W SuperVOOC charging support and was launched starting at Rs. 37,999.

Expected release date?

The OnePlus Pad 2 is expected to debut in the second half of 2024, possibly around the same time as Samsung's Galaxy Tab S10 series, it's also rumored to be powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and likely to be announced in July.
