CMF, a sub-brand of Nothing, is all set to launch its first smartphone, the CMF Phone (1), in India. This device is expected to be a cheaper version of the Nothing Phone (2a). Second informant MlgmXyysdthe CMF phone (1) will share many specifications with the phone (2a).

The phone is expected to sport a 6.67-inch 120Hz OLED display. It will have a dual-camera setup on the back, with a 50MP primary sensor and a 16MP front-facing camera, with no details on the secondary rear camera.

Under the hood, the CMF Phone (1) will feature a MediaTek Dimensity 7200 chipset, similar to the Nothing Phone (2a). It will have a 5000mAh battery with 33W fast charging, compared to the phone's 45W charging support (2a).

It will offer 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM and options for 128GB or 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage, with the ability to expand the memory via a MicroSD card. The CMF (1) phone will run on Nothing OS 2.6 based on Android 14 and will include connectivity options like Dual 5G, Bluetooth 5.3 and Wi-Fi 6.

The insider noted that a notable aspect of the design is the absence of the Glyph interface, a feature unique to Nothing phones. Instead, the CMF (1) phone will have a replaceable plastic back cover and a Nothing Lock for exclusive accessories.

Price and release date?

In terms of price and availability, the CMF (1) phone is expected to start at USD 249 (approx. Rs. 20,740) for the 128GB model and USD 279 (approx. Rs. 23,240) for the 256GB model.

It is said to be available in black, green, blue and an orange color exclusive to India. The release is expected to be in July 2024. More details are likely to emerge as the release date approaches.
